Successful bidding of prime land parcels accelerates the pace of development in the Eco-Island District of Eco-City

On 10 Jan 2017, the Eco-Island District in the Eco-City enters a stage of accelerated development after the successful bidding of prime land parcels. SSTEC has put up three land parcels, covering a total site area of 32.83 ha, for public bidding at the Tianjin Binhai New Area Land Development Centre.

On 21 Oct 2016, SSTEC participated in the 7th China (Binhai Tianjin) International Eco-City Forum & Expo from 21 to 23 Oct 2016 at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Centre. Being China's largest expo dedicated to the development of eco-cities, it gathered leaders and industry players to exchange insights in the sustainability journey of an eco-city.

SSTEC showcases Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo 2016

On 5 Oct 2016, SSTEC participated in the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo 2016 (Greenbuild), held in Los Angeles, U.S.A from 5 to 7 Oct at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Being the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building, the event was attended by 20,000 international industry leaders, experts and frontline professionals.

SSTEC supports innovative environmental design competition in the Eco-City

On 4 Jan 2017, many innovative works were created from the inaugural "Design for Environmental Creativity Competition" jointly organised by SSTEC and Society Bureau of the Eco-City Administrative Committee.

"Have a date with the birds" – Celebrate the phenomenon of bird migration and understand the importance on environment protection in the Eco

On 30 Oct 2016, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City continues to be a paradise for migratory birds, made possible only through Eco-City's liveable environment and strong conservation efforts. Families from the Eco-City had the opportunity to admire these rare birds by participating in the second run of the community event "Have a date with the birds", jointly organised by SSTEC and Tianjin Eco-City Volunteers Association.The event on Sunday involved the community in the Eco-City to take collective action to raise awareness on protecting the environment and the rare bird species.

​27 Dec 2016, Xinhua net carried an in-depth feature on the Eco-City by "Outlook Weekly", a weekly magazine under Xinhua News Agency.

The Eco-City achieved a regional GDP of RMB 14 billion in the first 3 quarters 2016

19 Nov 2016, Bohai Morning Post noted that in the first 3 quarters 2016, 992 companies registered their business in the Eco-City, with a registered capital of RMB 28.6 billion, amounting to a total of 4274 registered companies with a total registered capital of RMB 194 billion.

The design of the 41ha Sino-Singapore Friendship Park has been finalised

16 Dec 2016, China.com reported that the design of the 41.7ha Sino-Singapore Friendship Park, a joint project by ECAC and National Parks Board of Singapore has been finalised.

The Eco-City Library and Archive expected to open in Sep 2018

​6 Dec 2016, Tianjin Daily reported that the Eco-City Library and Archive is accelerating its construction now and expected to open in Sep 2018.
