10 years ago, a single seed bearing the hopes and dreams of building a green home took root on a piece of barren wasteland. In those 10 years, the seed sprouted and grew fervently against all odds, blossoming into the thriving Eco-City today.

Successful bids for two prime land plots in the Eco-City will help to drive the accelerated development of the Central District

In Aug and Sep 2018, there were successful bids for two residential land plots in the Eco-City’s Central District. Aside from providing more green homes for the residents, this will also create a new impetus for the accelerated development of the Central District.

SSTEC Forges New Partnerships at the 8^th Singapore-Tianjin Economic and Trade Council Meeting

On 27 Sep 2018, SSTEC separately signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with ECAC, Keppel Capital, and Surbana Jurong at the 8^th Singapore-Tianjin Economic and Trade Council Meeting held in Tianjin.

SSTEC received the "Tianjin Advanced Enterprises with Foreign Investment 2017 Awar" and its CEO, Mr Tay Lim Heng, received the "Outstanding Entrepreneur (Gold Award)"

On 8 Aug 2018, SSTEC was conferred the "Tianjin Advanced Enterprises with Foreign Investment 2017 Award" by the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government. Leveraging on complementary advantages to forge a win-win partnership – SSTEC forms strategic cooperation with Vanke Service to enhance property management services in the Eco-City

On 5 Sep 2018, SSTEC formed a strategic partnership with Vanke Service Development Co., Ltd. by divesting partial ownership of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tianjin Eco-City Sheng Heng Eco-Maintenance Management Co., Ltd. via public bidding.

Second phase of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco- city launched

2 Jul 2018, The Straits Times reported that the second major phase of the Eco-City project has formally been launched, focusing on the development of a glitzy-but-green central business district (CBD) in the heart of the 30sqkm township.

Both countries sign seven deals on bilateral cooperation

21 Sep 2018, The Straits Times reported that Singapore and China had signed seven deals in areas such as the arts, entrepreneurship, intellectual property and research on the sidelines of the 14^th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation meeting co-chaired by DPM Teo Chee Hean and Chinese Vice-Premier Han Zheng.

Lawrence Wong: the Eco-City’s experiences can be replicated to TBNA

28 Sep 2018, Lianhe Zaobao reported that Singapore Minister for National Development and Second Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong, said in his opening remarks at the China-Singapore International Green Building Forum that the Eco-City has transformed into a vibrant city from an alkaline-saline wasteland 10 years ago, accumulating experience in areas like green building, wastewater treatment, renewable energy and the design of community amenities.
