CEO's New Year Message

As we usher in 2019, I would like to wish all of you and your families happiness and good health in the Year of the Boar. I would also like to thank each and every one of you for your contributions to SSTEC and the Eco-City in 2018.

"Have a date with the birds"– The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City's 4th Community Bird-watching Event (Autumn Season) held in the Eco-City

On 27 Oct 2018: During the golden fall, the fourth run of the community bird-watching event "Have a date with the birds" (autumn season) was jointly organised by SSTEC, the Eco-City’s Culture and Tourism Bureau and Society Bureau, and the TBNA Jiang Bei Wetland Protection Centre.

More high-quality green homes will be added to the Eco-City’s Southern District

On 19 Dec 2018: Another plot of land in the Eco-City, which would add more high-quality green homes to the Eco-City’s Southern District, has been successfully bid for today. This plot of land (Jinbinsheng Transfer (Listed) 2018-4) is meant for residential use, with a total site area of 10.97ha.

On 14 Jan 2019: The results of the eighth edition of the "Delight in the Eco-City" Photo Competition which was launched by SSTEC in Aug 2018, was announced.

SSTEC 2018 annual "Learning Trip"

In order to promote collaboration and exchanges between employees from different departments, learn from the advanced management experiences of domestic and foreign companies, and develop an understanding of the latest urban planning solutions and smart technologies, employees from SSTEC and Eco-Homes embarked on unique and interesting learning trips from Nov to Dec 2018. Let us take a look at what they have done below.

"The Eco-City was selected as "the happiest eco-city in China in 2018"

​28 Nov 2018, Enorth noted that on 26 Nov, the 2018 China Happiness City Forum was held in Guangzhou, and the Eco-City was selected as "the happiest eco-city in China".

"Current affairs programmes on the Sino- Singapore Tianjin Eco-City"

06 & 07 Dec, Mediacorp’s Channel 8 (Ch8) and Channel NewsAsia (CNA) aired current affairs programmes on the Eco-City's transformation into a vibrant, innovative and sustainable city over the past decade, and the possibility of replicating the Eco-City’s development model in other cities in the future.

"The Eco-City’s Southern District has been awarded the Sustainable City Grand Prize"

11 Dec 2018, Binhai Times noted that recently, the award ceremony of the 6th "Green Solutions Awards" was held by Construction21 in Katowice, Poland. 9 projects were awarded prizes after a global evaluation, and two of these projects were from China.

"China-Singapore Ties: Joint efforts made to develop sustainable urbanisation"

14 Nov 2018, China Global TV Network (CCTV’s new international media organization) aired a 2 min 20 sec news clip on the Eco-City in its programme "Global Watch" where they noted that the formerly "ecological restricted zone" in Tianjin had transformed into a pioneer in eco-city construction after 10 years of development.

Fun and free educational experiences @ the Sino-Singapore Friendship Library

After a long wait, the much-anticipated Sino-Singapore Friendship Library is now open at the Eco-City’s Central District!
