Since the groundbreaking in 2008, the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City has achieved a critical mass of over 160,000 people and over 36,000 business entities. With attractive market-oriented policies, strong support from the authorities, and a clear vision to build a green, smart urban economy, the Eco-City is a template for other cities with similar aspirations to become a modern urban city.

The Eco-City has attracted numerous prominent companies from a wide range of industries. These include: Huawei, Tencent, Toyota, GLP, Keppel, Surbana-Jurong, Sunseap, Didi Chuxing, JD.com, Meituan, Alibaba Pictures and Momo.
Accolades Achieved
China’s 1st National Green Development Demonstration Zone Granted by China State Council, the NGDDZ provides the Eco-City with directives and preferential policies in areas including urban and environmental management. |
China’s 1st Batch of Smart City Pilot Zones Granted by China Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, this provides the Eco-City with more supporting policies to realise smart urban planning and utilisation of resources. |
China’s 1st Renewable Energy Building Demonstration City Granted by China Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Eco-City receives subsidies for projects promoting PV Solar Cells. |
China’s 1st Batch of Photovoltaic Concentrated Utilisation Demonstration Zone Granted by China National Energy Administration, it calls for further development and integration of solar and geothermal energy in the Eco-City. |
China’s Sponge City Pilot City Granted by China Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Water Resources, it is a validation of the Eco-City’s infrastructure towards urban runoff. |
The Eco-City was among the first cities in China to launch 5G network The Eco-City will be among the first Chinese cities to test 5G connections, the next-generation underlying infrastructure for smart cities. |
